「対自、創造、対話」
存在とは何か、生とは何か。
私は問い続け、応え続ける。
自身の存在や生への渇望を体現しています。
創作は自身との対峙であり、そこには常に私を見つめる私の眼差しがあります。「私は何であるか、或いは、私は何であり得るか」という問いに、私は絵筆を握り、その手を動かし、応えてゆきます。そして、カンヴァスに残る「生」の痕跡を見て思うのです。これが「私」だと。その答えを以って、「私という存在への了解」を得たいのです。
筆致に現れる生の痕跡は、現在から未来に向かうエナジーです。それが観る者の中に谺し、それぞれの未来への糧となることを望みます。
“versus self, creation, versus other”
I keep on questioning and keep on answering
What is existence? What is life?
I express myself, and my desire to live.
To me, creation is to confront myself and there is always an eye looking back at me. By gripping my paintbrush and moving my hand and arm, I answer questions like “what am I?” or “what am I becoming?”. Gazing at my own work, my traces of life, I think to myself that this is I. This process is essential for me to accept my whole existence.
The brushwork is traces of life, and a form of energy that travels from past to future. It is my earnest wish that this echoes within whom my work reaches out to, and becomes their nourishment.
